BD4BO participating in DIA Europe 2018: Has the Time for Big/Real World Data Finally Arrived?

DIA Europe is organized by the Drugs Information Association, a non-profit association dedicated to bringing health care product development professionals together in a trusted, global, neutral environment to share insights and drive action in health care product development and life cycle management.

DIA Europe 2018 will take place in Basel, Switzerland from 17-19 April and aims to present the entire health care value chain ranging from policy and regulations to R&D, marketing and access. 


Dr Shahid Hanif, Head of Health Data & Outcomes for the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry will be present on behalf of the BigData for Better Outcomes Project. BD4BO's overall objective is to maximize the potential of Big Data in European healthcare, and to promote innovative methods for harmonizing, accessing, and analysing data.

BD4BO comprises several disease-specific projects focusing on hematologic malignancies (HARMONY), Alzheimer’s disease (ROADMAP)cardiovascular diseases (BIG DATA@HEART), and prostate cancer, with potential studies of others at a later date. Like HARMONY, BD4BO is funded by the Innovative Medicines Initiative’s (IMI) with support from the European Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).
